Nagy Emma Quintet, formed in 2018 and based in Budapest, is part of the new generation of modern, contemporary jazz. Despite their many differences, the five members (Emma Nagy, Krisztián Oláh, Ádám Klausz, Péter Cseh, Ábel Dénes) were able to work well together right away. The experimental spirit plays a significant role in developing their sound.The compositions include powerful drum patterns, free improvisations, and modern compositions. Dissonance and contrasts, improvisation and variety, modern sensibility and strange, unvarnished language, all of which hint to a sort of surreal appeal.
